MODE OF STUDY
All Programmes in the Department are offered through the Open, Distance & e-Learning mode of studies.This involves Limited face-to-face Residential Sessions to provide overview of the course at the commencement of a semester, continuation of a semester, and revision period before examinations and specially designed self-instructional study modules/lecture series availed to the students at registration time through the University’s Multimedia Portal or in Print.

GUIDELINES
The Guidelines on Postgraduate Supervision can be accessed on the graduate school website (www.graduateschool.uonbi.ac.ke) while the Research Notebook is available at the University Bookstore.
Students are expected to complete the preparation of their PhD proposal, have it approved by the Graduate School and be entered for full admission before the expiry of the period given, failure to which the student ceases to enjoy provisional registration. In extenuating circumstances, an extension of provisional admission of up to six months may be granted only once.

Admission Requirements
- Masters degree certificate.
- Secondary/High School certificate and Bachelors degree certificates are also required
- Admission is confirmed only upon the production of original and certified (by the issuing University) copies of the degree certificate, academic transcripts and secondary level education certificate.
The offer is also subject to acceptance of the following conditions:
Provision of a letter of accreditation of the foreign University (where applicable)
To adhering to the University Rules and Regulations
Paying current tuition fees and other expenses as indicated in the attachment Completion of the degree programme within the stipulated duration.

The student account is updated the next working day after fees payment and can be accessed through the student online portal (smis.uonbi.ac.ke ) available in the University website (www.uonbi.ac.ke). As the University does not provide accommodation for postgraduate students, students must make their own accommodation arrangements.
It is estimate that a student needs over Ksh. 50,000.00 per month to cover accommodation and other personal expenses.
